On December 8, 2016 the REALTORS® Association of Lake & Sumter Counties, Inc held its annual Installation Banquet at the Mission Inn in Howey-in-the-Hills. At that time, the REALTOR® of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Affiliate of the Year were honored.
2016 REALTOR® of the Year: Lena Williams, Morris Realty and Investments
Lena Williams, this year’s Realtor® of the Year, was born and raised in Lake County, and is a graduate of Leesburg High School. Prior to getting into the real estate industry she worked for the Leesburg Chamber and attended Lake Sumter State College. She was raised in a Real Estate Family, is married and has two children.
Giving back is a part of her everyday life. She was listed as a finalist for “30 under 30” with the National Association of Realtors®. She chaired the first YPN Committee at the Realtors Association, is involved in the community and also volunteers her time with the Boys & Girls Club of Lake & Sumter Counties. In addition, she has also served on the Sunrise ARC Board and is a 7-year veteran volunteer volleyball couch for her church. She also serves as a Board member for St. Paul’s Catholic School.
2016 Affiliate Member of the Year: Kim Mahoney, First International Title Co.
Kim Mahoney, our 2016 Affiliate of the Year, was born in Kansas and has lived in the Lake County area for over 18 years. She enjoys vacation in the Florida Keys, and is an avid Florida Gator fan.
She has held a couple of positions over the years; working in the advertising department for Comcast and then worked with Real Estate advertising for around 6 years.
She is married and has three children. Her husband loves to barbeque and together they hope to open a barbeque restaurant sometime in the future. She is always willing to help others, and always volunteers her time. Additionally, Kim provides snack bags to the Realtors® who ride the bus to Tallahassee for Great American Realtor® Days every year.
2016 Rookie of the Year: Jennifer Warren, ERA Grizzard Real Estate
Jennifer Warren, the 2016 Rookie of the Year, moved to Lake County from Ohio 20 years ago. She is the mother of 3 boys who occupy a lot of her time. Prior to getting her real estate license she was a stay at home mom and she homeschooled two of her sons. Her hobbies include baking, reading and spending time with her boys.
She has always been active in her church - teaching Sunday school, and is a youth group camp counselor. She has participated in several mission trips and acted as a Director of Sparks in Awana Clubs.
Jennifer received her real estate license in August 2015 and eventually began working in property management. She transitioned into being an active sales associate at the end of January 2016 and closed $1.4 Million in sales within 9 months.
